Brooke attended Yoga In Psychotherapy in March, 2015, a weekend intensive presented by Joann Lutz, LICSW. Introducing the concepts of Nervous System-informed Yoga, Spirituality and Social Work and Spiritual Emergence, this twelve-hour professional training “trains mental health professionals, as well as caregivers and the general public, in bringing chair yoga postures, breathing practices, deep relaxation (yoga nidra) and meditation into a traditional medical/psychotherapeutic setting. These systems have been proven to reduce the symptoms of ANxiety, Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in controlled research studies and to aid in the healing of physiological disorders.”

Together, Joann and Brooke plan to collaborate, developing alliances among mental health professionals and Yoga therapists; professional presentations; publications; and promotion of the Spiritual Emergence Network, a network for psychospiritual growth and eco-spiritual transformation in the mental health field, in association with The Stanislav and Christina Grof Foundation.
